Ohh regardless of reliability or practicality I think I'm going to have to get one of these...
Airsoft World have a few in, but they list them as ~440 fps. Everywhere else online seems to suggest they are lower at 300-320 or thereabouts. Could some of the purchasers on here confirm the power? I'd prefer the reduced hassle from a UK seller but don't want to end up with something too hot to actually use!
I can't remember off the top of my head, but the power on mine was around the 300 mark, it the cold of Winter.

Mine came in at 320fps and it is all down to the necking down of the cartridges in the "primer area".
I fitted a hop-up as per nagant revolver guides. I filed a round furrow in top of barrel and fitted part of an o-ring in this and glued it into place.

I'm going to seek out one of these guides immediately!

Having seen one of these used last week on Facebook for £135 including post and a holster I finally got one too.
I am in love. Can't wait to get some CO2 and see how she shoots! If anyone has a link to the hop installing guides that'd be awesome!

Sure thing, buddy. HERE you go.
Did it myself, and it works a treat. Bit fiddly, but certainly worth the effort in my opinion. Just mind it's a one way street.

Yes that's the guide I found. My Webley has been nothing but a pleasure and shot a bit with it, infact on its third CO2 cartridge.

Cheers chap, I need to shoot a bit more when it is less windy to gauge whether mine needs it. Trouble is she's so pretty I'm not sure I can bring myself to touch her

I got one from Patrol Base as they, for a time, were cheaper than everywhere else. However I have a bit of a problem. When I ordered early this week I'm almost certain they had their fps estimate at 320 as mentioned here. I've had their page bookmarked for a few weeks to read/fawn over multiple times. But checking back this week it is now shown as 440 and I hate to say, the gun I got likely matches that if the coke can test is anything to go by. This thing I think is way too hot and I would not have placed the order in the first place had I read that!
Me and Worrywort are going regular airsofting tomorrow so I will get a confirmation with the site's chrono. It's definitely a 6mm version (printed on the gun frame, and box) but has the safety catch that I thought only the 4.5mm airgun version had. Immediately though it is obvious that the shells provided have no restrictors and big holes in the back, different to what people have pictured here but the same as airsoft world shows on their promo pics. (see my previous post & concerns)
So is there a new production line/batch with different specs and different shells included? A word of warning then if that's the case...
If it is too powerful I'm undecided what to do. Can you get restrictors that will fit these shells? Unless I return it, it adds up to spending more money and my wallet is a bit light after this and a recent SOF binge.

If there are no restrictors available on the market (I've not seen them) I'd be more than happy to make some up for you, removable ones at that!

After getting one from the wife I've got to say I love this gun. Only problem is its shooting at 440fps. Anyone had anymore ideas about reducing the fps?

Ralph

Airsoft World are selling these:

Now the shells don't fit but you can break them open and take the restrictor out and put it in the Webley shells and it brings the fps down to 280. Having said that I can't help thinking that a wildly inaccurate high powered pistol is exactly what the 0.455 Webley was...
Incidentally Airsoft World currently have the Webley in both Black and Battlefield finishes at £150.00. I can see no excuse for everyone not having one of these, certainly at Road to Rome I think 50% of the Brits had them. They are a thing of beauty.

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
That certainly looks like my best bet to get the fps down to site legal limit but 280 fps seems a bit unfair on the webley. Probably get some to try out.

Ralph
Bit late with these, but thought I'd post some pictures of the hop mod I did to my Webley. Followed the instructions on how to do it off the excellent Nagant tutorial that's kicking about on the net. Had to fiddle about with the o-ring I used, as initially it was blocking the BB in the barrel! Got there in the end, though, and it has much better range now.
^ This was taken shortly after I started. Small round file with the barrel locked safely in a vice.
^ Taken after glueing and trimming the o-ring. I used very fine sandpaper to scrape off the excess and make it flush with the outside of the barrel.
^ The results! I neatly wrapped a few layers of tape around this end to keep the barrel from rotating during fitting and firing. Seems secure enough, but time will tell (there are more complicated, permanent solutions to stop this though).
If I can do it, anyone can.

Thanks for sharing the pics Kendo. Out of interest, how do you remove the inner barrel from the frame?
At some point I might try my hand at the hop mod, as the power down restrictors make it skirmishable, but pretty much neuters the range. Not that it had much in the first place!
Thanks for sharing the pics Kendo. Out of interest, how do you remove the inner barrel from the frame?
^ Remove the smaller of the screws at the hinge with a flathead screwdriver
^ You will now be able to swing the small lever up, which will allow you to remove the cylinder.
^ Tap out the small recessed pin and the silver barrel mounting will pop out, allowing you to remove it and the barrel entirely.
Hope that helps!

Wish I could find one of these, seem to be out of stock everywhere.

Patrolbase too but they're £50 dearer than airsoftworld.
